Has fear held you captive to the chase for thinness? How often has it robbed you of your rest? Not just physical rest, but mental and emotional rest? Think about how much time you spend thinking about your food choices or your weight. Is it more than 50% of the day? Your worry about your body and not being good enough, pretty enough,etc. has left you unhappy, disappointed.
The diet, the weight, the food control, the binge eating or other eating disorder patterns all serve to keep you from the past. You might “fake it ‘till you make it”, or say that you are doing the best you can, but find yourself frustrated and feeling defeated when the pursuit of thinness is actually stripping you of living your best life. Deep inside you recognize the harm, yet it feels safer than cleaning the walls.
